This weekend we had the wonderful and amazing opportunity to coordinate Mathura and Geran’s wedding reception. Digital Fusion Production put together a wonderful clip of the hindu/catholic ceremony which we ran at the reception. The film eloquently captured all the timeless and precious moments of the Mathura + Geran’s special day. Watching the film you’ll see the true vivacious personalities of the wedding couple. Guests loved it. The couple loved it. It was definitely a score ;check it out – these guys (Digital Fusion Production) are pretty fabulous!

Music is incredibly important as it adds the right ambience in every and any event. It can completely change the look and feel.

If you want an Indian touch to your wedding, then you definitely need to add Anoushka Shankar to your guest list. The wonderful artist, daughter of Ravi Shankar and sister of Norah Jones, is simply a beautiful artist as she’s able to fuse Indian instruments with western, such as the the sitar with the violin/guitar.

Here is a sample of exactly what I’m talking about:

One of my favourite stores is Anthr0pologie. I love their style, and their concept. There are many dresses in the store that may fit perfectly with the theme/colour of your wedding – if you are going for something a little retro.

These next set of photos you’re about to see comes from the incredibly talented Jennifer. Her work is impeccable and mesmerizing. She’s a wonderful to work with, as I’ve had the opportunity to work with her in the past.  She’s all about capturing the details, ‘the’ moments with the right angle and light. She always makes it easy for the couples let loose and enjoy themselves. Today, I’m delighted to have the opportunity of sharing a hindu ceremony shot by Jennifer Images. The lovely couple is Samanta + Mahendra, both looked stunning on their wedding day. They had a two day celebration and you can check out the full set on Jennifer Images’ Blog.

We had the pleasure of planning our brothers wedding July 3rd, 2010. The wedding took place at a hindu temple with 400 guests. As per the request of my brother, Prashanna, and his wife, Rathika, things were kept very simple. They were some very important elements – the entrance, the music, traditional rituals that they focused on more.

The next day in the backyard of our sisters home, we had very close friends and immediate family get together for an intimate dinner and dancing.  Renaissance Studio’s Clint and Taha took the lovely couple earlier in the day for a  photo shoot with wild cats; it was pretty amazing. As animal lovers and activists Rathika and Prashanna dreamt of doing this always and thanks to the great staff at Jungle Cat World Wildlife– it was possible.

Renaissance Studio’s was absolutely fabulous. See below for teasers…

If there’s ever a boutique shop that contains the rich and enchanting feel of India with the right touch of modernity, I just found it. Nestled in the heart of Toronto’s finest wedding district the lovely boutique, Liloo at Home, brings an array of services.

Liloo at Home’s unquestionable customer service and completely unique style will entice every bride and groom. It’s modern-infused indian-inspired products and endless list of services will bring you back for more and more.

Liloo has a wide selection of exotic wedding favor boxes that contain a bit of everything  – culture, India, elegance, class. Couples can customize these boxes to their taste and budget. And then there is more – a collection of super gorgeous bridal wraps, which come in all the trendy wedding colors for the use of brides, bridesmaid or wedding guests gifts.

The shops primary focus is home linens, decor accents and special gift items. Each and every item Liloo has to offer contains a Canadian-Indian inspired touch. No stranger to textiles, the shop has endless options of hand selected exotic and colorful textiles.

Liloo at Home opened in November 2005, owner Sapna Alim shares with us how it all began: Liloo at home was born out of a journey of personal discovery and a reconnection to my roots. It was a vehicle that would allow me to travel and have one foot in each of the countries that are dear to me; India and Canada. This shop is a marriage between my eastern roots and my western way of life, allowing me to merge my two worlds. Not being able to find a shop in Toronto where my idea of Modern India would fit, I decided to create one. The original concept of Liloo at home began in February 2004, with my first visit back to my native land in over a decade. It was the experience of my lifetime and the foundation upon which I have built my shop!
